The Author

The author of this site, Stephen W. South as worked within the land registry of NSW for forty six years, six months until his retirement in December 2016. He has as seen work in dealing examination, the conversion of crown land tenures to Torrens title, the conversion of old system title to qualified Torrens title and was a Senior Title Examiner untill his retirement.

The Senior Title Examiner is responsible for the examination of the old system chain of title in a Primary Application, to determine the legal ownership of land in order to issue a fully guaranteed Torrens Title.

He was also involved with the Balmain Association for several years and published  "The Birchgrove Subdivision: A Search Plan" for the two hundredth anniversary of the Birchgrove grant.
